BIM Specialist

Q4A is looking to expand our team and require a BIM Specialist to continue our BIM-development firm wide.

job description

This role is suited toward a candidate that is highly collaborative and is impassioned to learn more about digital design and support our national BIM practices.

This position will work out of our Toronto office and will provide remote support to our Calgary and Ottawa offices.

responsibilities

  • Directly assist and report to our office’s BIM Manager.
  • Assist with the development of office and project BIM standards. Ensuring standards are maintained in the     creation of the architectural Revit models and other BIM content.
  • Demonstrate high level proficiency in Revit 3D modelling and model collaboration.
  • Family and Template Creation and Maintenance.
  • Educate and train team members with Q4A standard modelling and documentation procedures.
  • Assist project teams in BIM 360 management and coordinating consultant models.
  • Assist with Revit Data export to IFC and Navisworks for client and consultant coordination.
  • Assist Project Managers & Job Captains with BIM project setup.
  • Assist in coordination and management of BIM DATA sets and extraction workflow.
  • Educate staff on use of Add-ons and Plugins.
  • Assists in maintaining family libraries and a ticketing system to track their creation.
  • Assist in creation, maintenance and educating staff on Dynamo script use to maximize efficiencies.
  • Assist in troubleshooting project modeling techniques to improve accuracy and efficiency.
  • Participate in new tool/technology testing and deployment.
  • Actively check for data and modeling conformance on BIM-mandated projects.
